BELLA SERA

Our 2006 Bella Sera Pinot Grigio Il Rosato is created from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes from the Veneto region of Italy. The vineyards in these areas benefit from both the warmth of the Mediterranean sun, as well as cooler evening temperatures characteristic of the continental inland hills found in the region. The moderate summer lead to good maturity and acid retention for our grapes. The result of excellent weather conditions are evenly ripened, concentrated, and full-flavored grapes in this 2006 vintage. The grapes used in Pinot Grigio Il Rosato were harevested during late-September to early-October, crushed, and pressed. . Unlike traditional Pinot Grigio, the juice was given limited skin contact during the press resulting in excellent flavor extraction and a salmon pink hue to the wine. After settling, the wine was cold stabilized, filtered and bottled under sterile conditions, avoiding malolactic fermentation and preserving the fruit characteristics of the wine.
